El Rinconcito, located at 1317 N May Ave in Oklahoma City, is a vibrant destination for Guatemalan cuisine that offers a genuine taste of Central America. The atmosphere, reminiscent of a local eatery in Guatemala, warmly welcomes guests. Reviews rave about their comforting soups, notably the Asopao de Camarones and Mondongo, described as “the bomb” by patrons. The flavors are rich and authentic, with many customers praising the meals as “delicious” and “very tasty.” With a diverse menu, diners can indulge in fresh salads, scrumptious desserts like the Tres Leches cake and the delightful Pudin de Pan, all priced affordably around $3. The portion sizes are generous, ensuring that no one leaves hungry. The service, while unique in its order-at-the-counter model, creates a laid-back, communal dining experience. While some might find the ambiance lively—or even overwhelming due to the spirited music—the familial atmosphere and friendly staff draw you in. Frequent guests, like Diana Robles and Kathy Castro, highlight that dining at El Rinconcito feels like stepping into a slice of Guatemala, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Guatemalan food in Oklahoma City. El Rinconcito promises to deliver not just great food but also a warm cultural experience.

My fried fish platter was very good, with handmade corn tortillas and horchata drink. The portions were very filling and the taste over the top. It was just a little confusing that you have to come over by the counter to place the order instead of someone coming to wait on you, but they do bring your dishes to your tables. They do have very long tables that you have to share with strangers and the music is always playing loudly, if someone is not used to that, it could be a bit annoying.

We found this place close to our hotel while traveling to OKC. We selected three different menu items so all of us could try each other's food. One was a Carne asada plate, one pechuga de Pollo a la Carrillo and the other was another beef item. The food was the BEST. Reasonable prices and great service.

Came here the other day for the first time. I just mapped a Latin cuisine restaurant near me and it popped up. I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing this place is and sad I hadn’t heard of it earlier. I got the carne asada plate and potato tamales. They both tasted amazing. The service was great and helpful too because they could tell it was my first time in. Lots of families and inviting atmosphere overall. Definitely will be back!
